Can't he celebrate Christmas at the same time we do? No, he cannot, as it's a different calendar. Merry Christmas, PF, and a Happy New year. I was supposed to go to the St. Peter and St. Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral for Christmas Mass, but I'm sick with the flu and don't want to pass it around.

Which is why Zeke, in his blind attempt to equate the religiosity of a nation with the number of churches, may wish to rethink his theory That's pretty funny. Quebec has a church on every block, but when the figurative pendulum swings, it rarely stops in the middle. Everyone used to be strict Roman...

Posting here was just an idea to see if there might be others going through the same situation.

If that's the case, it would be very helpful if we knew what the situation is. Give us something to work with.

I've had dogs, and I've had cats. Both have charms, but are vastly diferent. I also have pet rats, and their brain power is far superior to dogs OR cats. Rats are capable of metacognition, which scientists used to think was only exhibited in the higher primates. It means they understand the concept ...

I know an orderly who was working in a Kosher senior's home. He was told what the rules were when he signed on. He brought in a ham sandwich, however, and put it in the staff fridge. Not only was he immediately fired, but the fridge was tossed out forthwith. Seems like this is much the same. You sig...

I've read in one site that it's necessary to put the cat in the catbox and wet it's back with water, so was doing even that.
Why on earth would you do that? Cats loathe water, and now the poor cat may be associating the litter box with you putting water on her back. I can't blame her for tr...

Ah yes, FAUX News. That's the same station that was mocking Canadian soldiers, saying we prance around in white capri pants while painting pictures. This was on the same day we were bringing bodies home from Afghanistan.

I was flipping channels when I landed on that show...I couldn't watch it. She sounds like a cat being beaten to death by a set of bagpipes.

Good idea - that I could go for no problem. For all I know they're better than cotton or durable plastic bags as far as overall environmental costs are concerned. Most folks aren't even aware they're made from cornstarch. They look and feel just like plastic, except they're a little more "cris...
[/quoteSo unless you want to ban all shopping bags, it doesn't look like there is a clear better choice anyway. I'll take plastic over paper. Sure, there IS better choice. A lot of the stores here in Quebec are using "plastic" bags made from cornstarch. Yes, most folks bring their o...

In the case of celery — the poster child of all negative calorie foods – you would be burning an extra 4.5 calories per each 9 calorie, 2.2 oz serving of celery. That would put your effective net calories at 4.5 (9/50% = 4.5 calories) — hardly “negative calorie” territory. And because the amount of ...
