No shit. The Captains lack of attention to his surroundings and blatant disregard of standard safe ship handling practices is going to cost the company a ton of money especially, given that extremely large rollers are always coming off the Pacific with no warning at this time of year.
I fully expect the Captain to be charged with criminal negligence causing death much like the Bridge Watchkeeper on the Queen of the North.
