Woodhead Woodhead:
The real problem is management.

No. Both parties are equally culpable because they've been equal partners, for decades, in a conspiracy of entitlement. Now the jig's up and both parties are gonna pay for their short-sightendness and arrogance.

I believe you're all brainwashed neo-cons.

The company should get what the market can bear.
The workers shouldn't.
Couldn't be clearer.

Next you'll tell us that because the Chrysler workers had to eat shit, the Ford workers should too because it's only fair...

Explain to me why the workers shouldn't take a cut when companies hit hard times? They certainly have their hands out in good times.

if they're making shit (for profits) they should eat shit as well.
Do you think nobody in the oil patch has had to take a cut in pay?
if they didn't already get laid off without any choice.

Unions
they all think it should be job for life no matter what happens.

Didn't say anything about not taking cuts, pointing out a hypocrisy if you believe a seller should go for the best R.O.I. but labour shouldn't.

Why hell mtbr wants to celebrate that the CAW did everything possible and a couple greedy lenders forced Chapter 11 and still pretends the unions are somehow to blame. He's simply totally opposed to collective bargaining, period.

Let's be perfectly clear: the company adjusted, the union adjusted, the gov't adjusted, most banks adjusted. But a couple blood-sucking lenders who refused to compromise at all fucked all of them over. Including us if there's fewer models to choose from.

the union did adjust, but only after being beaten into a corner and this adjustment was ONCE in it's history. And make no mistake, if old man Buzz was still at the helm, he would not have moved one red inch.

That's neither here nor there. The reason for the bankruptcy is that some greedy creditors weren't willing to take a cut in what they were owed.

This one isn't any union's fault.
