You may recall the topic I posted with the notion of a government that could sustain itself absent any tax revenues from its citizens.

It is of no small consequence that some of our rezidentura objected to the idea because they want taxes to be used for social engineering purposes.

In their view the power to tax really is the power to destroy and they don't care if revenues decline because of their tax policies because revenues are not the purpose of their tax policies in the first place. The result in France is EXACTLY what people like Andy want from their ideal tax policies.

They just want to use taxes to eradicate 'income inequalities' and, of course, they accomplish this by beggaring productive people, not by uplifting beggars.
