Last year they predicted correctly for the most prevalent viruses but this year was a swing and miss for most of North America.

Yup. I got my flushots early*. I recall they said the strains were 'Texas', 'Manhattan' and 'California' from last year.

It's always a crapshoot, because they have to pick what they think will be the most virulent this season, basically last season. February or something, so that the vaccine can be produced in time.

*Bonus being, I also got immunized for 23 strains of pnumonococcal virus.
