That's how us humans think... if we can't immediately explain something logically, we explain it in the most illogical way we can. That's why we have aliens, big-foot, the Loch Ness monster, and a whole mess of Gods. 8O

I've seen some weird shit involving radio signals. When I used to drive cab there was a certain grocery store where if I was parked right by the door, whenever I clicked the 'talk' button on my radio the automatic doors would open.
What was even weirder was at this one apartment building we used to get calls from regularly. Every time I clicked the radio when I was in the parking lot, one and only one apartment unit's lights would go off and on.

I know it wasn't Odin. He only promised to get rid of the ice giants (which there are none of now... thank you Odin!)

A lot of electronic devices are kind of random, especially if they are poorly made or tested. Most devices, in order to get certain certifications have to 'accept' any interference they receive from other things. But there are so many things out there that send signals, it's tough to account for every thing your design might receive.

Well designed ones will only operate with the signals they generate themselves, poorly made ones have side effects like you state.

With building codes changing recently to allow things like light switches to remotely operate lights via radio receiver, I can't wait for the fun that will bring!

But it's a known fact that if all logical explanations have been dismissed, the most wildly absurd explanation must be true.

The wrinkles in this rock formation look vaguely like a Depends. That PROVES ancient alien theory!

Sometimes those explanations make far more sense than the truth does.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:

Wrong. Its Aliens sent by the CIA to disrupt car FOB radio signals as a first phase of a plan to eventually subjugate humanity and colonize the earth. This is a test to see if they can disrupt our technology.

It's the first step... they know that no one would believe it's aliens. Today its a Co-op... Tomorrow its Washington.

Turns out to be pretty mundane as far as causes are concerned. Someone's remote car-starter was stuck in permanent transmit mode and the non-stop signal was interfering with all the other fobs nearby:

No aliens this time. Can't even blame the Jews for it either. Bummer.
