Suzuki and Gore are already organizing as we discuss this.

I think it is atoms that disapear, and reapear out of nowhere?

Actually, while it's pretty damn complciated, the main concept of faster-than-light travel is that given a defined quantity of space, a particle/atom/whatever will look to be "entering" the fold in the spacetime continuum, but since it is travelling faster than the speed of light, it would supposedly be "emerging" from the other side at the same time that it appeared to be entering...Supposedly...

Yeah, that makes sense. Though how much faster you think it would be?

Of course, it's the American that's all paranoid over it.

Fack off and let research continue, you imbeciles.

Although your anti-american bias is showing, I have to concur that this IS just ignorant luddite paranoia.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking about here... :?

Theoretically, once you break the light-barrier (if it's even possible), there is no limit to how fast you can travel; so long as a stable "warp bubble" is maintained...

I think they should stop . Why even try such a machine if there is any chance of starting a time bomb.

Why drive a car if there is even a remote possibility of death? Or stop flying because it may prove to end your life prematurely...

A stable singularity would be a source of immense and clean power. You could even power up one of these:

Why try anything if there is a risk?

What I meant was, how much faster do you assume it would go passed light speed? 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, etc... fairly simple question...

Yes. This guy needs to calm down, look at the facts, and throw away all his tinfoil...

There is probably one of these assholes screaming whenever any progression in science is made.

It is those "assholes" that keep shit from fucking up in the world. Theres a possibility that it could happen, so why gamble with it unless you do what he sais and ensure 100% that it won't happen.

Unless of course you have some sick satisfaction of taking chances of killing all life on earth, even if its a slim chance?

One theorist I recall made the point that once you are going faster than the speed of light the issue will become slowing down.
