Here's a great example where the police were able to use brute force and ignorance to subdue a dangerous man without having to resort to shooting the crap out of him. Well done the Vancouver PD!

This makes very little sense.

A Naval expression for what it takes to get the job done when all other things fail - i.e. taser/rubber bullets. The old standby.

They were able to subdue the man without blowing his head off so I give them a good deal of credit. It's good none of them got hurt by this weirdo.

I don't know what reasoning cops use in these circumstances. They tackled a guy with a sword, but shot and killed a guy who was brandishing a box cutter, but not attacking anybody either.

Big difference. These were male cops, where as the box cutter incident was dealt with by two officers who were female which is just another reason to get rid of politically correct hiring practices and bring back minimum requirements for police services that include things like height, weight, mental acumen and physical ability.

And yes ladies, I know, I'm sexist, and a pig. [B-o]

Yes, I was thinking something like that myself. The box cutter guy was apparently quite harmless, and wasn't all psyched out like this sword guy. I don't actually expect cops to tackle any adult with a weapon. Maybe those two women cops didn't have tasers? I bet the box cutter guy would have gone down.

Probably best to try to have male/female teams. Women are better at defusing certain situations, match them with some big ape who can do the rough stuff. I wonder if that would be allowed in our pc world.

I doubt it.

Somehow it would likely infringe on someones human rights or play complete havoc with their delicate phsyc's.

I would imagine it comes down to individual circumstances for each cop. The guy with the sword may be defusing; in other words, he may be calming down so the boys jump him when the opportunity presents itself. The guy with the box-cutter may be escalating; he may just be winding up to attack the police with his box-cutter.

A weapon in the hand is one factor for a cop to consider. Granted, it's a huuuuuge factor, but there are other facets that go along with it.

So in review.

cop tasers and fires rubber bullets at a guy, doesn't work so he takes him down the old fashioned way. If that's not glaring proof that tasers are not needed and cops could still just put in the muscle. I dont know what is.

You're a fucking idiot. It takes a lot of balls to tackle a guy with a 4 foot long sword who could take any of your limbs off with it or cut you in half, regardless of how big you are. Would you have don the same thing? I probably wouldn't have.

Bravo to the cop.
