Indeed it does work all the time, but not as you describe. If you see a grouse, pump your shotgun to load a round into the chamber, and then fire. Until then, there is no round in the chamber.

Does that work on a double barrel as well Wonder why they put safety catches on the damn things? A semi requires you to free a hand and pull back the bolt. Quick reflexes there dude.
