An Alberta man was working from home when Canada Post came to his door. But his security camera shows they never rang the door bell and left only a package slip, not his package.
She says they are still waiting to get all of the details about the incident, but there are a number of reasons this could have happened. She says these include "a lack of training and support for the letter carrier, staff shortages (meaning more work for individual letter carriers), along with any number of things that can impact a smooth delivery."
They delivered the notice instead of the package. What possible training or support could possibly be needed? They have both in their hot little hand, they chose not do their job and delivered the note instead of the package. It was a choice.
And an odd choice. I pay for DELIVERY, not to pick a package up at a depot.
DELIVER THE FUCKING PACKAGE.
This is why Canada Post / Purolator is losing money. They have lost the plot.
Oooh you get home delivery... so lucky. The Post Office is our public meeting place, outranked the coffee shops* long ago. Now with online shopping the lineups exceed the supermarket. Amazon gets dropped off at the Post Office. Purolator at the Dollar Store if you live out of town or aren't home. There's a guy from the next town who delivers here a couple times a week for the others. He phones you if you're not home to say when he comes back.
What I found over the years is the more you need or want something, the longer it takes to get delivered.
I have no idea where the post office is and I don't go to coffee shops. Since I don't drive anymore, it's nice to have a sushi place, pharmacy, bakery, grocery and liquor store within walking distance.
The weed store and the beer store are between the Post Office an the supermarket here. On stop shopping. There's also have a Fields if you want to buy leftover Halloween candy from 1972 at a reduced price.

Note: The package I got last week was cannabis.
Right? I have a fantastic bakery, small grocer, pharmacy, doctor, dentist, a couple really good sushi places and a pizza/Indian place all within 3 blocks.
And a liquor store and cannabis shop less than 2 blocks away, because this is Edmonton.
Also, I too get mail delivered to my door. Everyone should. Canada Post employees are under appreciated.
