WTF? How the hell does shit liek insecticide and rat poison end up in a food factory? Lead paint I could reasonably comprehend, but not this.

    [sarcasm on]

This is one of the reasons why China was exempted from Kyoto... So more of our business will relocated to the UN's model of a good global citizen...

Because there is little legitimate regulation in China, farmers will use whatever pesticide they want with little worry that it will be rejected by their customers. A shoddy and corrupt infrastructure that moves material and product does not help either.

Fer christ sakes.. these were the people who made and sold fake baby formula to their own people... do you expect they care about exporting safe products to their traditional enemies?

Why are imported foods from *anywhere* not subject to the same rigid regulations and inspections that domestic foods are subject to?

JT Foods distributed 13 tons of dumplings each in Chiba and Hyogo, the ministry said.

Obviously only a small proportion was sold/consumed or a small proportion was contaminated.

Likely difficult to sell frozen dumplings in Japan for a while regardless of source.

Some-one in China will be punished severely----for getting caught.
