    Big deal.

At least some real policing got done with the rangers. :)

Someone should tell the globe and mail that Texas State Troopers are NOT Texas Rangers.

The Texas Rangers are an elite policing force composed of a small number of highly trained officers.

The State Police are a different entity entirely.

The Texas Rangers are also way behind The Los Angeles Angels
Of Anaheim in the A.L. West.

The Globe and Mail thinks all Texans are alike..and
don't know anything about Canada. Ironic, isn't it ?

The interesting thing about this case is that the motorist in question was actually a cop. He didn't see why he should let an American police officer search his car. Turns out he was right.

I lived in Arlington, Texas 16 years - I was being sarcastic.

But I have to admit I still root for the rangers.

Texas Rangers are the Best. http://texas.rangers.mlb.com :D

Actually, it just struck me. The DPS officers (Texas State Troopers) that pulled over the Canadain cop, did they have guns? (or was it sorta like a citizens arrest)

can't make a citizens arrest if you are not a citizen of the country where the Criminal Code is applied

In fact, unless they are 'invited' I think it is illegal to have a foreign agency performing policing activities in Canada,
