Canadians prefer Obama. But should they?

Canada's infatuation with Mr. Obama is a continuation of the country's long-standing preference for Democratic U.S. presidents. But when it comes to our financial and economic well-being, is an Obama win really in our best interests?

Canada economy will take a huge hit if Obama wins...

Obama wants to close GM plant in Canada over U.S. plants.

Obama wants to stop imports of Canadian oil.

I see pro-Obama threads will be ignored.

Well if you are Pro-McCain (pro-sanity) you can donate without opening your wallet.

This is how the RNC is doing it. Obama is a bit behind the curve...oh, I already knew that.

All too often I feel Canadians in general are not firing on all cylinders, one of those times is now with all the pro-Obama folks coming out of the woodwork.

All too often you find Canadians favouring democrats over republicans, even if the democrat happened to be the guy screwed your wife and stole your job, at least he is not republican...

As one of the comedians said, just another black man asking for change.

His anointment and his campaign are an insult to reasonable and logical voters. His platform consists of hollow slogans and hot air and he has no experience to carry it through. I hope the American people see through it but this may be the time that you can fool some of the people.

Because there's a huge ammount of inertia in the US political system, I doubt anyone can really make big changes overnight but I doubt Obama will be good for Canada.

Nothing the Americans vote for will end "good for Canada".

    Period.

Do you people think that we're falling for the whole "McCain is more likely to take it up the ass by Canada" thing?

Canada is screwed no matter WHAT the Americans do.

I'm sorry Mr_Canada, but before I take anything you say on the economy and jobs serious, you first need to move out of your mothers basement.

I mean, how can you have any real concept of Canada's economy if you are not fully immersed into, by paying rent/mortage, taxes, caring for a family, car payments, paying for a university or colledge tuition, and more...

It's great to be living with Mom & Dad and seeing the country and world though rose colored glasses, but until you fully take control of your own life without a curfew your opinion on the economy is pretty much mute.

Fine, smartass, tell me what McCain is going to do for the good of Canadians in his mind?

McCain is pro-NAFTA, and Obama will kill Canadian jobs and try to bring them back across the border.

If you think Canada has a shitty deal now; LOL.

After the last Democratic debate, we showed reports from Canada's CTV alleged that contrary to Obama's assertions at the debate regarding NAFTA where he said "I will make sure we renegotiate. I think we should use the hammer of a potential opt-out as leverage to ensure that we actually get labor and environmental standards that are enforced," that a "senior member" of Obama's campaign team has spoken with the Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. to reassure him that Obama's anti-NAFTA rhetoric was not to be taken seriously.

Anyway, Obama is better for Canada. Not for Economic reasons, but just for restoring sanity and moving the US in a new more constructive future.

And this is different than any other politicians how? I support him solely because it will really piss Harper off.
