I notice something. When Cretien had called an election, they referred to him as 'Liberal Leader'. But they keep referring to Harper as 'Prime Minister'. Sorry, once Parliament is dissolved, there is no more 'Prime Minister'.

Spin Machine indeed. Keep reinforcing that he is Prime Minister, and eventually people will believe it.

I would think he's the PM until replaced.

Nope. Parliamentary rules. There is no PM. The PMO basically takes over as Head of Government. Harper can be called in as Head of Government in an emergency, but he's basically out, and has to win back government status to be called PM.

He is still Leader of the CPC, but he isn't PM.

Yep. I was incorrect. He is PM until another PM is asked by the GG to form government (election defeat) , or the GG dismisses him. (According to Marleau and Montpetit)

I don't know why I think that's funny but it made me chuckle. :)

Three titles you will NEVER see :
    Stephane Dion, PM
    Jack Layton, PM
    Elizabeth May, PM
