Calgary's top Crown prosecutor has apologized for the lengthy delay in handling a rape case, which led to charges being stayed against two men accused of raping a 15-year-old girl.

there is no excuse for these types of delays. The charter guarantees a 'reasonable' judicial process. I have seen cases literally get thrown out because of the lack of action by the crown.

Maybe some time managment and case prioritization is in order.

Yah, I don't think an apology is what this girl was hoping for. She should sue not only the crown and police but her attacker as well.
