Islam is just plain against abortion, and closes it's eyes for the fact that it happens.
Of course they oppose this.

Open your eyes and smell the coffee, clerics. It's a serious issue. Deal with it.

They are probably taking the same approach as the Roman Catholic church. The idea that a bunch of old men can get together and ban something it will go away, it's the idea of hide your head in the sand approach.

Guess what! It doesn't work.
