    Many prostitutes are just a sub-class of homeless vagrant. A group of people prone to mysteriously disapear.

    Something about not having enough nice stuff makes police unsure if you've moved or are dead.

    I once heard about vagrant that disapeared, he left a six pack of beer and a bag of chips in a bag they where purchased in at his appartment by the door.

    The police figured he had moved and didn't bother investigating.
