Justice! This idiot shoots himself while trying to kill a non violent dog.

Deputy Munoz is not only a first class jerk, he will also rightly face life time ridicule as the cop who can't shoot straight. He is a real life Barney Fife.

Shooting yourself under any circumstances isn't a good advertisement for your competence.

Had those kids had guns, they could have returned fire.

Even a medium sized pitbull can be very dangerous. We don't know how the dog acted when the deputy arrived. Does the deputy have to wait to get bitten before shooting? I'm not defending him, but saying that we need more info before judging him. Personally I'm always suspicious pit bulls and the people who own them, especially ones that need a deputy to serve an eviction notice.

I am thinking of a line from a Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry movie where Inspector Callaghan points a gun a gun at a thug and says the line "Go ahead make my day". In this case the cop essentially says the same thing to a dog before shooting himself in the leg.

Imagine all the jokes this bloke will face for the rest of his career and rightly so. The only consolation for this boob is that he didn't shoot himself in the ass.

Yeah, I also have my doubts the pit bull was being nice and playful when the cop turned up with an eviction notice. And any sane parent would not be letting their little children be playing with a pit bull specially unattended.

I have to agree as well. The dog was barking at him and obviously he felt it was in a threatening manner. The dog saw him as an intruder in his space (yard) and was reacting accordingly. Good thing for him he didn't shoot the dog or everyone would probably be condemning him regardless of why he was there or any other circumstances.

So when a dog barks at an intruder, who comes on the dogs property, which he defends, we just shoot?
Damn, I should have shot my neighbours dog a million times then. He barks even when I enter my own property! And yes, I despise that dog.
