It seems to be only Britain that has this sort of thing. Other European countries have good social safety nets, but they don't have the generational dependency that Britain for some reason has fostered. Sweden has very high social mobility, much higher than the US or Britain. We're somewhere in between.

The US has generational dependency problems, too, but they're mostly concentrated in urban black, urban Hispanic, and rural white and rural (Native) Indian populations.

Everyone else knows better than to invest a lifetime in living on the dole.

Really? $50,000+ /yr is a reasonable welfare payment? Not much incentive to look for a job when you can sit on your ass at home, go sign a form every couple of weeks and receive $1000/week.

Canada has the Natives and drug addicts. The US has the blacks and the drug addicts. Britain has the chavs, the Muslims, and the drug addicts. Europe has the Muslims and the drug addicts. Unless you go to Japan or China, where on a cultural level they simply won't tolerate that kind of asocial behaviour, every place has a group of sucks doing nothing to contribute and that's been turned into a generational burden. Until the political correctness that prevents it from being convincingly fixed is finally overturned it'll remain a perpetual problem for the taxpayers in the developed world.

Housing benefit, Job seekers allowance, in work benefits, you name it, the government
will give you money.

Anytime you have a system that allows one person to receive benefits for doing nothing while another pays for the do nothings there'll always be resentment. See New Zealand in the 1980's.

Although, I agree with having the people who are capable, working before they collect benefits but, they'll have to be careful not to arbitrarily set the bar to high or low which will defeat the whole purpose of the exercise.

So the question becomes will he actually make Britain's large "Asian" population follow the same rules or, will this program only apply to white, black and oriental Britons.

How is that a fail?

It's not credible for Cameron to say anything, at least not while he's gutting the British military to the bone while at the same time the NHS will spend money on boob jobs for chav sluts so they can 'feel better about themselves'.

It looks like they need to seriously lower what people get on welfare. Capping it at 50k for an individual is just ludicrous. I'm sure most people don't get anywhere near that, but still. We also had that story of a woman with several kids living in housing that cost 5000 (I think pounds) a month, so 60k a year just for housing.

But of course they also need to have jobs for these people to go to. Hell, they could create all sorts of govt jobs for these people, do work that's not getting done otherwise, for half that amount.
