Conservative Leader Stephen Harper says that Canada is "head and shoulders" above the rest of the G7 when it comes to economic growth and job creation, putting the economy front and centre in his campaign. How does that claim stack up? We put it through t

Maybe the vast majority of Canadians haven't got a clue how bad it has been in the rest of the West.

It's the smug stupidity that will make this coming recession even worse.

    What "West"?
Not Kitimat, Prince Rupert or Vancouver. The rest of BC it's been in a 20 year slow decline.
If you're talking recent Alberta, well shit they do know. Half the people I met in Newfoundland last summer worked in Alberta!

I too would like a change, but not Mulcair or Trudeau. Same as I would like to see Christy Clark gone, but there are no alternatives.

Well I'm starting to think maybe Mulcair does have a handle on economics.

I like him more with each day.

Never voted NDP but this could be the time.

I have never been partisan , people who really know me know that.

In the old days I just saw all parties as just real Canadians doing a good job and chose which one I thought we needed for the country.

Harper ruined the conservative party and turned it into a propaganda machine with a LowGo.

He just does not have that statesman Canada feel.

Trudeau would bring tried and true economics to the table and a change of vibe which really is needed.

But maybe we need more left wing social governing after this fascist bastion of far right wing megalomaniacs gushing with power.

As seen by their multitude of omnibus bills without debate.

How much more of that do we need.

On the one hand, it's time to break this cycle of Liberal - Conservative seesaw. It's time to give the NDP a chance to show what they can do.

On the other hand, Harper actually wants the NDP to do well and turn the Libs to dust. He knows that most Canadians are centrist and thinks without the Libs they will mostly split to the Cons keeping them in power in the long run.

But I don't care. Anybody but Harper at this point, and Trudeau voted for C51 - that's enough right there for me not to vote for him.

Also, i've heard the contention that with a minority Con govt, Trudeau might actually keep them in power, as he tries to consolidate his party. Another reason in my mind to vote NDP.

Well as for the c51 deal....he did say he would like to see some changes.

I think his talking point was ill used.

It's necessary to create good laws to protect us in this fairly new adventure of terrorists.
Laws that could stop a killer.

But c 51 is like 1984 on roids for me.

If i could see a majority NDP seriously I would be happy.

The divided left and centre is a nightmare for some and a joy for Harper vaudevillians.

although the alliance was formed to break the left and centre from being in power.

We don't need more anti-terror laws. We need the resources to do the actual investigations using our current laws. It's the usual bullshit we get from this govt - tough laws that take away civil rights instead of actually spending money to enforce the laws. It's more show than go.

IF the current poll standings continue, that's another reason to vote NDP, otherwise you just drain away from the opposition. Although really strategic voting is in order. Vote for the strongest candidate in your riding that's not CP. Heck, vote for the Bloc if that will keep a con out of office - not like the Bloc is going to form a govt.
