Okay, so the francophiles won the gambit. They took the bilingual sign impetus and rolled it over to 100% bilingual services for the township! The same people (two) who made it mandatory to be bilingual to push a broom now want to secure jobs for all of the transplanted quebecers. I am pissed this A... |

Ironically most of the Russell Township area was at one point populated by the Scots. As they moved on, they place was taken by the Quebecers and the Dutch, Belgian and Swiss! |

Here are a couple to get it started. http://ottawasun.com/News/OttawaAndRegion/2008/01/21/4784195-sun.html http://www.journallanouvelle.ca/article-171739-Dicaire-will-bring-bilingual-sign-motion-to-council.html My synopsis is as follows. About three months ago a group of senior francophone activists... |

I notice no one is posting anything about the raging debate on French language rights in Eastern Ontario. Is this a taboo subject or has it been flogged to death already? Russell Township is the latest victim of the "Hidden Agenda" of francophiles to dominate the politics and power structu... |

Thats just sad that someone would do something like that. You would think that people would be just a little more adult about things. To get involved in something like that just to make someones day miserable is the sign of a SICK SICK MIND! Hope the sender gets a lump of coal in their stocking, an... |

There is an obvious difference in driving needs depending on what area of this country you live in. I have lived in practicly all areas except the Rock(its on the list of things to do). LowerVancouver Island - wait an hour it will be safe again. Same for Calgary! Edmonton - it's so damn cold the car... |

And no matter what kind of tires you have the colder it is outside the better traction you will have.Roads and ice are at their slipperiest when near melting temps. Sorry, have to disagree. Traction is all about friction. I am not a physics expert but I think it is safe to assume that when too surf... |

I have only recently finally parked my '87 fire-chicken. Interesting! My '87 fire-chicken has been parked for a few years. I should get around to selling it. I was great in summer, but slid badly in winter. I had to shovel the back lane behind my garage all the way down to pavement. Otherwise I wou... |

I think you guys are missing the point about winter tires. Just like daytime running light, air bags, seat belts and shock absorbing bumpers, it's all about the safety. The good winters that are on the market today will decrease stopping distance by 40%, have better grip for cornering and in most ca... |

This e-mail was sent to me yesterday from a very proud Canadian. He is ex-navy. I am not sure of the origin of this rant but it certainly could give rise to some interesting comments. I had to cut and paste to hide its origin. |

The government can't tie the drivers licences to cars either because there are tons of people out there that buy cars but never operate them eg parents for kids or lovig family members with good credit vs bad credit. Why didn't the parents know he know about the car? Never mind, I think I know the a... |

I am a smoker but I still insist that smokin in front of kids plants the seed of acceptability in their brain. We can't legislate stupidity but we also cannot prevent people with the smallest amount of common sense from reproducing. LEGISLATE THE HELL OUT OF FUTURE SMOKERS and leave us old dogs alon... |
