Interesting quirk of Canadian society. I would have thought the U.S. or perhaps Japan would have been the higher user of plastic.

Well, as various sci-fi authors have postulated, we'll all be using the generic "credits" as a world-wide monetary unit sooner or later.

Certainly it does seem like a manipulation of the "system", but- does a death sentence fit the crime ? I think not.

I had to think about this one for a while. In the final analysis, I think the judge did the right thing in this particular instance. Deportation to Vietnam would result in a 99% chance of execution, a sentence not warranted base on the type of crime committed in Canada (or the US, for that matter). ...

Hmm. . I don't think city-dwelling Canadians and Americans are used to a large traffic population of scooters, mopeds or motor bikes, etc. This will definetly take some getting used to and an enhanced level of "defensive" driving skills to keep from flattening some of them. When I lived in...
