I believe the author does not address the issue of whether there was, or is, a real threat to the lives of Jews in Israel, but, rather, whether the perception of threat amongst Jews is vastly amplified to the point of causing decisions to be made based on patently distorted and highly selective read...

Whelan, the WTO is not under the US's thumb - it is ruled by consensus of all involved. The failure of last year's WTO negotiations in Cancun was exactly because the poorer countries decided to band togetehr and refuse to play along. Shortly afterwards, the US was slapped by the WTO with substantial...

Kevin and Poz: I think we are in agreement here. Globalization (and the resulting large MNCs) are tools of progress, but they are tools that need to be controlled to ensure they operate within boundaries that ensure safety, sustainability and a minimal level of competition and stability. The world g...

I saw that movie. It was interesting, but biased in the extreme, to the point of being brainwashing propaganda. I can go into detail criticising each section of the movie, but let me just consider the memorable section where they claim that if the corporation was a person, it would be categorized as...

Dave, Research has shown strong correlation between the level of global integration of a country and the improvement in quality of life of people in that country. You are welcome to read, for example, these results . <p&g...

What a set of fascinating responses! I apologize for not having the time to respond at length (work work work). Looking at globalization as the domain of huge corporations and associating it with US hegemony or neo-conservative agenda sounds like confused thinking to me. Global business is just that...

Regarding NAFTA, any set of rules you agree to abide by put some limits on what you can do. There may be ...
