Marine Drive is still 50 kph, Marine Way varies between 50 and 90kph. I would nominate that stretch for dumbest speed restriction in North America. The other one is the stretch from Chilliwack to Cache Creek. Hope they're adjusting that one. I doubt it though. The speed traps along that stretch are...

I've always bin of the opinion that all our license plates should have a scalable RFID-type chip (not like GPS tracable, but the same technology like if you cross over a tolled bridge, and it reads that sticker on top of your rearview mirror), and that the government should just install scanners on ...

Tolls piss people off for sure. But gas taxes are no longer effective. Car models are much more energy efficient. I don't know why we just can't do away with the fuel excise taxes and just add it as a general licensing surcharge. You need to visit Albeta - every third person still drives a pick-up ...

How would that be? That gas tax is charged at the pumps, no? So even if you drive off of public roads, you still need to fill up at a gas station...

Didn't even read the article. Mexican Mennonites running drugs has been going on for decades and is hardly news and is hardly shocking. What people need to realize is being Mennonite is as much a culture based on historical roots but no longer necessarily means one is religious. Mexican Mennonite g...

I've bin through Flagstaff as well. Drove through there on the way to the Grand Canyon to do a hike with my dad when I was 12. I remember stopping on the outskirts there for this Navajo "dinosaur" tracks exhibit. It was so funny and believable at the time as a 12-year-old lol. Cool landsca...

Yah, I'm with the minority on this one. This is definitely a generational issue. NEWSFLASH, anyone with a smart phone or internet stick in their laptop can get internet through the cellular networks! I can easily make my iPhone 5S a "hot spot" and then use my laptop off that as WiFi as lon...

Also, a side story to this is the utter dysfunction of the West Vancouver Police Department (WVPD) over the last decade: Revelations of an after-hours social gathering at the police station, and the subsequent impaired driving arrest of a West Vancouver police constable http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Oh the entitlement of West Vancouverites. The richest postal code in the country. The wealth there is obscene.

RIP Jim. Really sad news. That guy devoted so much of his life to his province and country. And he never got a chance to really enjoy a retirement.

You honestly think that the left/right spectrum is age based? I hardly buy that anymore. All the idealist "compassionate" welfare statists WERE the baby boombers who lived in the heyday era of Pierre Trudeau in the 70s. They never dreamed of having to deal with unpaid internships or barely...

How bloody difficult is it to meet the requirements? Not much. Even as a student when my permanent address was back in Manitoba, I used my cell phone bill and university residence contract and was all set to vote in BC (more competitive riding). Poor folks can get a note from a soup kitchen, or a pr...
