I don't know where JJ is living currently but I'm a Canadian living in the US and I just want to simply say that you don't realize how different we are until you move to "the other side". And I'm not going to talk about the Queen or the Economy or any of that stuff. I can't even put why we are diffe...

I think it all depends on his motivations for moving. If he hates Los Angeles...it could be because of the size, the traffic, the congestion of people...then I wouldn't choose Toronto. Toronto isn't nearly as bad but it is a large city with large suburbs to match. If he's trying to get away from tha...

Sorry Bu...guess the conversation has turned dark. I don't have a real life example of someone going to Canada from the US but rumor has it that it is easier....with slightly less red tape. I've reviewed the process and it seems similiar to that of going to the states (ie. the forms you fill out are...

I didn't have to do that but I'm only a permanent resident...that sounds like something you'd have to do if you became a citizen. And I don't plan to give up my Canadian citizenship. But getting your permanent residency is no picnic either and I did have to fill out a form (one of sooo many) that as...

Just wanted to say good luck to electricbuford on his pursuit of citizenship. I've spent the past few years dealing with american immigration and I imagine that working with canadian immigration is equally frustrating. It takes hard work and dedication to move to another country so all I can say is ...

I'm coming home in exactly 37 days, 19 hours and 41 minutes for a visit after being away for about 3 1/2 years!!! That's how long it took to get my green card here in the US after I married my husband...and I wasn't allowed to leave the country until it came through. Whew...finally! I can't wait!!! ...

*sigh*...I really wish I could say I liked it but I HATE it here. Why do I stay you may ask? Well...my husband is from here and I happen to love him so... You are right about the cost of property...not to mention everything else around here...sky high to say the least. And don't even get me started ...

I didn't believe we said aboot either until I moved to the states and it was brought to my attention. I don't think we say 'aboot' as obivously as everyone claims we do...if anything it's somewhere in between the american about and the alleged canadian aboot. Am I making sense...it's early, I'm at w...

:D Geez...I dunno. I personally think it's a fear of being gay but my husband says that I'm wrong. I've always perceived that men feel uncomfortable saying another man is attractive because that would mean they "could" be gay. So to avoid that question in their minds altogether they just don't even ...

Since we are on the topic of hard to find Canadian vignettes...maybe someone out there can help me. I'm looking for a tv show...not a vignette but still.... Does anyone remember the Haunted House of Frankenstein or something like that? It had Dracula, Igor, Zelda the witch (I think it was Zelda), th...

 I just had this discussion with my husband and it's something I just don't get. As a woman I can look at another woman and say I think she's attractive/good looking. I don't understand why men can't do the same thing!

 Yes...Americans DO talk funny! My husband is from Long Island and although his accent isn't thick he does add "r's" to words that end in "w". So "saw" becomes "sawr". Oh...and my personal favorite..."asked" somehow becomes "aksed". He denies it of course...but I know what I heard.

According to my American husband I have a Canadian accent that gets more prominent when I talk to friends and family back home. I say ABOOT instead of ABOUT and EH and apparently my pronounciation of "O's" is different.....and I say it all with pride!
No doot aboot it!
