Back to the suggestion of the Shoguns in Japan. Takeda Shingen. I don't think he was ever a Shogun, but he was a hell of a military/clan leader.

Hmmm, guess the Military Club is non-existant now. I've been looking at going with one group, but it is fairly expensive, which I guess could be expected. So far, the price for a solo-first time jump is $250 and to become a qualified jumper you have to complete the solo jump, plus take a $750 course...

I think he's overrated because of his accomplishments, or lack thereof, during his lifetime. He was a very mediocre leader, with few grand accomplishments compared to some. The only reason he is as famous as he is now is because his tomb in the Valley of Kings was not looted, and when it was discove...

Maybe I'm a little late... I'd have to disagree with Yasser Arafat. He wasn't over rated, he did a lot for the Palestinians, and he was a terrorist, but he surely wasn't overrated, not like some are.
I would have to say King Tut, from Egypt. He is so fuckin' overrated. |

Can't really say why. I've always loved the band Rammstein, and they were really my only introduction to German. And I listen to them a lot, and Megaherz, Eisbrecher, and Oomph!. Also my grandfather is from Czechoslovakia, or rather was, I guess now it's the Czech Republic. Whatever, so yeah because...

Damn it, I hate it when people speak German. I get so jealous... I want to learn it but I have no time, or no resources...
But, nice to meet you Castor! I know it's a little late. |

Tman1, your avatar is the main character from a fairly popular Japanese TV show. I forget the name of the guy, and it's actually pissing me off because I used to remember it and use it as my avatar on other forums. Something like Gotsa or Pogo.

I love the classics, Alexander and Greece. Espeically the time around the Pelopponnesian War (SP? It's been 2 years since I've had Ancient History) and the Persian War. I love Sparta over Athens, the fools! I look forward to having some good debates with you. Being back here and meeting other histor...

Hey RH, what's the member's name? I'd love to get in touch with whoever that is lol. I've been checking out the Canadian Sport Parachuting Ass. at http://www.cspa.ca/ and they have a member group, the Ontario Military Sport Para. Club, that is in my area. I figured I may as well email them and inqui...

Oh my, this is new. I like this idea. I must say this feature must make a lot of competition. I see Tman1 is considered a "History Nut", well, I love history too, I may just have to try and out do you ;) BTW, a little off topic, what's your favourite type of history? Ancient? Classic? Modern? Asian,...

I don't know if you could consider it a sport, but whatever. Does anyone here skydive? I want to go sometime, I plan on doing it sometime before the end of July. I haven't been researching it enough, but I am looking for places around the Ottawa region that will teach people to sky dive. Anyway, any...

There are those military leaders that are loyal to Quebec. It wouldn't be hard for Quebec to gain a military, it'd technically be stolen, but they could certainly get the bases and the help. Unless of course this turned into a civil war, which I could easily forsee. There are those that are radical ...
