If the Tories win, there will not be another election in a year unless the Liberals force one. The economy will be in recession and it will make no sense for the Tories to drop the writ unless something very unusual happens.

Get used to the permanent Canadian minority.

No, I think we'll ultimately see either lower lows or a retest of the lows seen on Friday. I think we could rally pretty sharply over the next few weeks, and perhaps closer higher for the year, but there are simply too many difficulties in the global economy right now. The world is going through a g...

Don't be ridiculous Blair. I knew about the increasing leverage being taken onto the balance sheets of Wall Street, the insane decisions by the regulators to allow it to happen, the idiotic behavior in the housing market and the disastrous policies of Alan Greenspan long before you even knew what a ...

Stokes, don't pay much attention to what Blair says. He's wrong often, just like he is with the post above.

Reverend Blair Reverend Blair:
Apparently I'm supposed to remind you of your lack of honour and responsibility, Toro.

Well, that's nice.

You say that like it doesn't matter, Toro. What about all of the people who bought a home only to see its value plummet. What about those who lost a good chunk of their retirement savings? The predictable thing about you money guys is that you really don't give a shit about the average person. Inst...

Early? That's not early. Heck, those of use who who live or have lived in northern Saskatchewan, first week of September is early for snow. If it hadn't snowed by mid-October, we'd be thinking "Where's all the snow?"

This has been happening for years. Hugh has been siphoning off PdVSA for some time now to finance his "Bolivaran Revolution," and he's eating into his seed corn as maintenance capital expenditures have been diverted to funding his Utopia / solidifying his political base. Thus, production f...

It means that Cuba is in the black book of THE superpower. Who'd want to trade or send aid to Cuba if it meant pissing the evil empire off? Not many. Canadian and European companies invest in Cuba, primarily in the tourism industry but also in mining. The embargo is stupid, not only for the reasons...
