Mario -- I was going to just jump off and say it is a Rafale, but the tumblehome on the nacelles doesn't look right and the canopy looks wrong.

It isn't the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter -- that has twin vertical stabs and the picture only has one.

What kind of design feature would have enabled it to withstand underwater weapons. Don't they used an air pocket and the ships own weight to break it's back? In that particular era the preferred defence for large ships was an anti-torpedo belt. Simply put, it was just additional armour from a point...

BAC TSR.2

It has a history not unlike the AVRO Arrow, although the TSR.2 was a piece of flying junk. 5 were built. One survives as a museum piece, the remainder were destroyed on the range.

I wasn't aware that you could be drafted into the USN. I had always thought it was a volunteer force.

Actually, I'll go with dwaters on the ship. It's a Montana BB. Program was cancelled in 1943 and the ships were never completed.

SprCForr -- I'll have to look through some deck plans, because that is one the "never builts". The 4 gun turrets make it a cruiser and the hull flare makes it American.
