Emerson et al livein a fool's paradise. The US economy is facing a looming debt crisis, their military spending is out of control as are their trade deficits with other countries. If we think the Wall Street meltdown of'08 was bad the worst is yet to come. Canada would be wise to keep its economic d...

There is an elephant in the room!!! The November 25th Guardian UK writes that Obama intends to start cutting both farm subsidies and health care at a time when the US is spending roughly half its national budget on defense. Adjusted for inflation this is more than it was spending during the Cold War...

Dear Individiualist, No,I am not applying for a job at the Toronto Star. Yes, I am a Canadian nationalist, and no I am not a card carrying Liberal. If you read some of my other articles you will find that I have taken some pretty hard shots at the Liberals. I would like to think that a lot of issues...

Harper promised fixed term elections and he should be held to it. Our first-past-the-post electoral system gives the governing party many advantages and calling elections when it is to their advantage is a big one. It is quite simply an abuse of the electoral system no matter what party does it . We...

The use of tasers is an issue that bears close watching as there are now a number of inquiries pending. Even with these inquiries there are still instances of taser of abuse and police forces remain undeterred in their indesriminate use. We should be quite prepared that these inquiries, one and all,...

Mark Emery and Omar Khadr have something in common- both are being entreated to a travesty of justice as our supine federal government once again is willing to give up its citizens to atrocious foreign codes of justice. It is equally alarming there is no public outcry on either of these issues.

Given Emerson's appalling performance on softwood lumber you would thing he might be open to redeeming himself on NAFTA. Obama's suggestions are actually quite progessive sounding; but then that is not what Emerson is about. "Obama has promised that one of the first things he would do as presid...
