Chill out, Skippy. There have been a ton of shootings here as of late. Hit Google. Go find your own links. Most every Alberta paper will have a few for ya.

What was reported in the media is nothing at all like a good sample of crime.

Does anyone have any official crime reports on shootings?

Not official, but the family of one of the dead guys said the one that came to the trailer came to kill his son because his son fired the other guy 2 weeks ago. The woman was killed while prehaps trying to stop the guy coming to the trailer, they lived together.

$1:
Both men were in their 40s and police said they knew each other.

So much for the dumb-ass young punks theory. Most likely two guys who hated each other and the crazier one of the two got his hands on a gun to fix his personal problems 2nd Amendment style.

One was the former employer of three years, the other was the recently fired employee.

Killing your boss is nothing new anywhere on this planet, which makes all this "only in Alberta" talk the pile of b.s. it really is. I've had at least a couple of bosses I'd like to mow down too but I never got around to doing, mostly because I'm not insane, or full of enough genuine hatred, or on enough of the right kinds of drugs that make doing it seem logical and reasonable.

when I first read the headline I immediately thought, "Honour Killing" and now after reading the article, I wonder if that's what the paper intended to imply or, maybe they're just to fucking dense to understand that you have to be clear and concise when using English or you confuse your readers.

The home owner woke up to see his former employee standing in his bedroom doorway, threw him out of the trailer and went and got a gun. The other guy came back and after a few, " I don't want to shot you man " they both started shooting.

The last company I worked for would ask if you could pass a drug test and if you answered no they would still send you to work and have you tested "later".

So... did you pass?

Smart-ass.

According to StatsCan, Halifax is the worst Canadian city for gun related violent crime. However I'm fairly sure they're talking about per capita and not hard numbers.
In 2013 there were 53 shootings plus 2 gun related fatalities. As of April 2014 there were 8 shootings and 1 gun related fatality as well as 4 attempted murders.
Moncton, NB was rated second worst.
In 2012 the rate for gun related violence in Nova Scotia was 137 incidents per 10,000 people, according to the Nova Scotia Justice Dept. And yes that's 137 incidents per 10,000 people.

According to numbers from Toronto's hospitals, accidental shootings are the majority of firearm related injuries they treat every year.
