Alaska Air CEO Says Loose Bolts Found in ‘Many’ Boeing Jets

Theroy that makes sense to me; the plugs are made by one company, and installed - but not tightened - prior to fuselage delivery. In a rush to complete planes, no one read the specs that say to tighten the bolts to final specs. The bolts are left loose because the plug is expected to be removed to complete the interior of the plane, and the bolts are the 'torque to yield' type which means single use.
