Dang, I was thinking it'd be on par by Christmas...but damn! 8O

The US dollar is sucking air big time!

And that house I bought in Victoria ten years ago has gained 27% in value just on the exchange. :D

Give it a few more years like this and maybe the discussion will turn to what Canada is going to do with fifty new Provinces.

There's no real way of knowing when it will be a good time to take advantage or minimize the loss. I usually do nothing and use my Visa for everything except maybe $100-200 loose change stuff. One of the good practices I've seen is to buy it from now till the time you leave. It then averages out your exchange and although you may not get the best price, you won't feel the sting as much if it goes in the toilet..........which it shouldn't. When the dollar is low many companies and NHL teams bought it in the same way to minimize the effect of having to spend US dollars.

Me too! Credit cards usually have a better exchange rate due to no currency charge.

The US Fed dropped the interest rate and the markets just went nuts.

Not just the NSE but the TSE as well.
