It's become evident to me that overall , Canadian politicians have more to work with regards to the intelligence of their population than do U.S. politicians . But since we Americans are masters of the world , our ignorance will be protected .

Wow, what an asshole thing to say if you mean that Americans aren't as intelligent as Canadians. There's so many smart Americans....

Nova Scotia huh? I live in the Annapolis Valley, it's a great beautiful place :)

Thats was funny, we don't doubt most Americans are cool, just the ones that are really arogant that are annoying :) I think you will have a great time up here.

Logansowner,

We don't doubt that most Canadians are cool, just the ones that are really arrogant that are annoying :) The ones I'm talking about are the ones who pull UN stats and have to write about why Canada is number #1, and why they are better than the US....

Don't get me wrong, I love Canadians, I just don't get why they have to resort to saying things like these things to define themselves as the best:

We are one of the only countries that can put up with Americans
Canada doesn't have the highest national debt (The U.S. does, ha!)
We have better technology than the U.S.
We are probably the least biased country
We don't have to worry about nukes or bombs
Canadians are 300% less likely to be murdered than Americans
We have the 'Smarties' candy unlike Americans (Very important, isn't it?)
Our schools have less of a dicipline problem than American schools
Canadian students rank higher than American students in Math, Science, English, ...
Canadian woman second in comand at UN (American not 1st or 3rd or 4th or... in command)
Canada has a trade surplus, unlike our southern friends
Average life expectancy of a Canadian is 79 years, the highest in the world (U.S. is 75 years)
Canada receives more immigrants per capita than the U.S. (almost twice as much)
Canadian troops lead the invasion of Normandy
You know the nuclear bombs the U.S. prides itself on? Well they get the essential uranium from Canada

Ask any American why they think they are the best, and you are more than likely not going to hear a word about Canada, but ask any Canadian why they are the best, and they will go into a large list of things they are better than the US at. I'd say it's pretty arrogant and shows a large amount of insecurity when someone is so preoccupied with another country that they can't define why their country is great without slamming the other country. This wasn't a "why Canada is better than the US" list, but a "why canada is number 1" list. It came from this site. I think whoever wrote the list, and whoever thinks like that needs to be humbled. Sure the US has problems, but do you people need to define why you all are number 1(which is stupid and arrogant to call yourself number 1, which you bitch about the Americans doing, yet do yourselves)by bashing the US? Alot of those things I don't even worry or care about, and I'm not afraid when im in my home country of someone nuking me. Why can't you people be like "Canada is great, we have done alot as far as technology goes and have really benefited the world with our scientific breakthroughs" instead of saying "Canada is great because we are better than the US and we are #1 while the Americans are not as good at us at anything, and everything we do is better than them."

What you are missing is the constant attacks though. If we say that we've done a lot in any given area, we are told that the US has done more or that we are wrong to have done those things because they are unAmerican.

Read your own posts and those of the fifth columnists in our midst, Johnny. If we say we have done anything right or well, there is an immediate chorus of, "We should be more like the US instead." Then you tell us not to criticise the US or define ourselves by what the US has done. You should move back home Johnny.

I meant you all should not compare yourself to other countries. Is there no other way for you all to talk about how great Canada is without cutting down other countries? Canada is great, and there's so many things that could be said about it without having to compare to the US. I don't hear people from Britian or France comparing themselves to Americans. So you want to be different than the Americans in everything, even it if makes you look petty and insecure? What things are told that they are unamerican? You all aren't American, and I wouldn't expect any of you to act American, I just wish you people wouldn't cut down my country so much for your own gains. If you don't got something good to say, don't say it at all, you know. I'm sure there's plenty of ways you people could brag up your love for your country without showing anger and resentment towards Americans. Americans don't do it to you, so why do you do it to them? And if there are some that do it to you, that doesn't make it right, and you only sink to their level if you do the same as them, which doesn't make you number 1, but equal, yet you people look like you are striving to be better than Americans in every way and basically have them below you, like they are barbarians...

If an American tells you "well the US did more" just tell them the facts about what Canada has done, but this Canada is #1 thing was unprovoked and basically makes you all look insecure and petty, like you can't get beyond what people think about you and Americans. If I made a Canada Rules site, in the place describing why it rules I would put "because we have great technology, and great schools, and we are a first rate country which has people from many nations and we contribute alot to peace in the world." I think that makes Canada sound like a bunch of people with pride in their nation who don't have to sink to the level of cutting people down and who are humble. You people comparing and cutting down the US makes you sound like the unpopular guy at school who can't stand that someone else is popular. If you all are really a peaceful nation, you should live up to that and not be so petty with saying things about how great and better than the US you are.

What do these comparisons to the US prove anyways? Comparing Canada to the US is like comparing apples to oranges because our systems of government are set up somewhat different and the populations are very different. You'd be surprised how hard it is to run a country of 300 million people. Canada's done so many things that comparing them to the US just makes things sour. I think if the US wasn't mentioned at all it would make Canada look more like it's own country who doesn't have to depend on the US to make itself look good....

YoungCanuck YoungCanuck:
    8) Canada is an amazing country, especially their prairies. I've lived here for the past 8 years. I live in a town of under 300 people, if you want hick territory... Cartwright is the place to be. We have the ol' swimmin hole, the coffee shop and the nice little brick church. It's a wonderful place, check out our webpage at http://www.cartwrightmb.ca/

Hi YoungCanuck :D
I have a soft spot for the Prairies  My Mum's childhood was like "Little House on the Paririe" they moved a fair bit , as did alot of the farmers of the time. My Mum also made us kids spend time on her cousin's (Provost Alta.) farm during the summer ... talk about feeling out of place since we were raised in the city. 8O but have fond memories. What brought you to Cartwright? I'm living in "Hickville" too our pop. 1500 & one Canadian :D ... we have an indoor rink! one coffee shop! our local grocer is the hub, viking graves & a wooden church. The odd thing about small towns is that everyone knows your bussiness  so it's best at times to be reserved about your life ... as it can spread like fire & by the time it gets back to you 8O your REAL life sounds boring.

Cheers Natooke.

Would you be kind enough to translate what you wrote (above), it that's at all possible.

For moi kermi? 'cause it makes no sense - if you know what I mean.

You should move back home Johnny.

There you go again, telling people to leave - you had another poster who challenged your gobblygook puffery banned from here. You have suggested numerous times I should be banned or leave. Now you're at it again. What's with you?
