I wonder if there are sites by Americans who love the United States which spend alot of time comparing/cutting down Canada in an attempt to make the United States look great? I have yet to find any, but I came accross this Canadian site which should be named "Canadians vs Americans" considering everything seems to have to do Canada compared to the US. Isn't there any other ways to present the country of Canada and Canadians without using references to things they are better than Americans? Example: "Canadians have better technology than Americans"....I see no facts in that line. 8O :( 8)

HOO BOY! There sure IS!

http://www.rv.net/forum/Index.cfm/fusea ... rum/64.cfm

Warning: They play in the "A" Leagues - It's dark and scary in there. Dont proceed without hip-waders, a big, BIG stick and Kevlar body armour. They dont spend a LOT of time over Canada - theyre too wrapped up in their own problems. But when they DO - dont expect "hugs'n'kisses" from very many....

In fact - you should consider bringing a gun - most of them are armed.

I've run across quite a few, Johnny. If you go to pretty much any American board and just dare to mention that you are Canadian you will here about it. The really interesting thing is how absolutely ignorant those who go after you are.

I'm not talking about going to these sites and criticising American policy, or even talking about politics. I mean something as innocent as, "I live in Canada and am looking for implements for a 1956 Allis Chalmer's walking tractor..." being met with being called a communist and a terrorist.

I don't see a lot of that going on around here.

Johnny, there are sites, mostly sponsored by wives, husbands, and mothers of troops serving in Iraq, Afgan, etc., same as Canadian solders have done for decades, unfortunatly, most people do not look for what they have to say, and ask, which is support for those who protect our countries, (both of us, Canadian, and Americans have stood shoulder to shoulder in troubled times, although we do not always see eye to eye, nor should we.. But remember, aside from the politics, we always have remainded very good friends!!

I've run across a few American sites where I post and I think a small, but vocal minority of those Americans spew venom about Canada and Canadians. You learn to either ignore them....or hand them their ass on a platter. The rest you make great friends with.

After trying to represent Canada on American boards for so long, and for the most part running into friendly allies, I'm a little disappointed to see the general tone running through the posts on this Canadian board towards Americans.

Oh BTW, welcome this newbie. :)

I for one would like to hear more about Canada here and less about a certain country to the south.

Perhaps on the rest of the board...

But this IS the Canada/US section.

Hi Rosco

So many of our policies are tied up in or affected by those of the US, that I'm not sure it's possible to ignore that, Rosco. Economics, gay marriage, defense, pot laws, trade, agricultural policies...everything we do is affected in some way by the US.
