BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Naturally, as a little kid I was the asshole who asked why the remaining stripes were white and why was that?

They tried pretty hard to make 13 red stripes... it just didn't seem to work out for some reason, people kept on asking why the background was red. :)

So now I went and checked and found out that I was dead wrong on the Maple Leaf flag. I had no idea about that. Wow. You learn something new everyday.

Good questions, thanks for posting them! PDT_Armataz_01_34

Most of them say Keyanada.

A lot of Californians mistakenly pronounce it as if it were a Mexican name - Can-ya-da

This is more of a statement rather than a question but, who cares.

Why is the American national symbol a Bald Eagle..A beautiful, graceful hunter while Canada's is the beaver..A friggin' rodent?!

LOL

PJB PJB:
Why is the American national symbol a Bald Eagle..A beautiful, graceful hunter

Not according to Ben Franklin

$1:
"For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly. You may have seen him perched on some dead Tree near the River, where, too lazy to fish for himself, he watches the Labour of the Fishing Hawk; and when that diligent Bird has at length taken a Fish, and is bearing it to his Nest for the Support of his Mate and young Ones, the Bald Eagle pursues him and takes it from him.

"With all this Injustice, he is never in good Case but like those among Men who live by Sharping & Robbing he is generally poor and often very lousy. Besides he is a rank Coward: The little King Bird not bigger than a Sparrow attacks him boldly and drives him out of the District. He is therefore by no means a proper Emblem for the brave and honest Cincinnati of America who have driven all the King birds from our Country . . .

"I am on this account not displeased that the Figure is not known as a Bald Eagle, but looks more like a Turkey. For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America . . . He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage, and would not hesitate to attack a Grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a red Coat on."

Ask them if they think in their informed opinion if our Canadian Prime Minister 'Don Cherry,' is doing a great job handling Canadian relations with the USA?

If the answer is:

..No..

Then ask them if they think having a French Canadian like Matts Sundin would do a better job with relations with the USA if his party, the Blue Leaf of Canada won the next election?

..Yes..

Ahh what the hell, ask them the same thing. =) ditto

Down in the Annapolis Valley, they have eagle watching sites for the tourists.... what they don't tell the tourists is how they attract the eagles by strewing dead chickens from the poultry farm along the riverbank.
