The Canadian and American economies are dominated by the services sector. For this reason and others, we have to evaluate these countries from the quality of their people more so than from the quality of their products.

I read recently that 30% of the worlds forests are in Canada. I am not sure if U.S.A. has a larger amount than that, but if not than that would also be another reason.

Canada has real bacon Americas have sows bellies thanks to Bernays

Cherry picking truth
http://www.corporate-aliens.com/article ... rnays.html

Some of Bernays' campaigns actually changed the behavior of most Americans. In the mid twenties, a company called Beechnut Packing wanted to improve its sales of bacon. Bernays, instead of creating a campaign to put the bacon on sale created a new and unheard of use for the product. He asked the medical community if it was better for people to have a hardy breakfast or a light breakfast. Doctors agreed that a hearty breakfast was better. The breakfast of that period consisted of toast, coffee, and juice. Bernays added bacon and eggs to this breakfast. He started a marketing campaign that touted the medical benefits of a hearty breakfast that included bacon and eggs. To this day, an "all American" breakfast includes bacon and eggs.

Here is how Bernays felt about Public Relations and democracy:
The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.

During the Viet-Nam war the American people were constantly being told through the media that if the communists won in Viet-Nam, democracy would be lost. The communists won and nothing happened. There were over 58,000 Americans killed, 303,000 wounded and over 3,800,000 Vietnamese lost their lives. Many Americans still believe the media spin and think the war was necessary.

The current Iraqi war has the government again launching a Public Relations campaign. Now the word "terrorism" is constantly being spun in the media as a threat to "freedom." According to the media, terrorists seem to be everywhere. Opposing this war could get you labeled as a traitor. You may get called a "conspiracy theorist" if you question the government's explanation of the events leading to this war.

In 2007, Canada was fourth and the USA were in 12th place on the Human Development Index (HDI). The HDI is the normalized measure of life expectancy, literacy, education, and GDP per capita for countries worldwide.

We were idiots though, we should have bought Alaska and the Louisiana territories. Wewere offered them first. America had the insight to buy something of great future value, we didn't. We also gave up the "Avro Aero", and for what? I believe that we got the auto pact from the US because of it but I can not prove that. For years the US told us to get stuffed when we asked to build our own cars in Canada. Then out of the blue they let us. All in the same time frame that we gave up on mass producing the Avro Aero which was light years ahead of Boeings competing production. I can't prove that and I sometimes like conspiracy theories so I may be off but I don't think so. The official government release of course is totally different than what I beleive, imagine that though. The government doesn't lie do they?
Around a politician you'd better keep your stick on the ice.

Well that's funny because for the first 5 years you were not allowed to call them the scumbag terrorists that they actually are. The CBC, BBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and all the print media had memo's circulated to their editors that stated that we are not allowed to call them terroists but have to call them insurgents and other nonsense.

If it kills to create terror then it's a terrorist scumbag piece of crap. Call it what it is.

Sitting back and waiting for it too happen before we prepare or cut off the snakes head now is pure stupidity.

The American Government doesn't go far enough. They need to bomb the crap out of Al Sadr and every friggin piece of scum that blows people up in the name of Allah. Jihadists love weakness and know how to exploit it. They use media (our own too), they use sympathy and they use stupid people who believe they won't ever hurt us or get to us. They are building and scheming constantly to kill more people and cause more terror all to further their vision of Islam.

I don't want to be a Neville Chamberlain who said Hitler was no threat then got his nuts cut off by the same one he said was no threat. In fact only Churchill and a few others were ready and knew what was coming. History will repeat itself because dreamers believe that it won't ever happen again because we are too civilized. That's why it will happen again....we are too civilized. A little animal instinct goes a long way. Most Canadian and Americans are too civilized and are being fattened for the kill. I may sound crazy but thats what they said to Churchill at the time too. If it never comes then great but we better be ready and all the signs of weakness we show as a nation/nations are just encouraging them.

I for one like the fact that we are fighting them over there instead of here and believe that if we don't then we will be like Israel one day that gets bombed on a daily basis. Of course our papers and media never report that stuff, because it goes against their anti Bush adgenda. But you can find it on the internet and alternative media. I never listen to the stations I mentioned above they are negligent in their duties as news agencies and are nothing more than propaganda agents for the Liberal Left in our countries. Now I sound freaky don't I.

I beleive it.

Keep yer stick on the ice.

Any country (or at least those citizens who support the tactic) that attacks the sovereignty and innocent citizens of another for the pure sake that they may pose a threat at some future point is a country of cowards. Iraq had nothing to do with 911 - absolutely nothing, nor did it posess wmd's. Bush and his compadres are war criminals, plain and simple. The "war on terror" is as phony and contrived as the war on drugs, it is pure unadulterated horseshit.

Iraq was violating United Nations' resolutions (and the Oil-for-Food program was becoming a farce).

That did not give the US the right to unilaterally go in there, and then destroy the country.
