When Bob and Doug Mckanzie first aired on SCTV in 1981, did Canada has any steriotypes before then? Were Bob and Doug the first ones to use the stereotype of Canadians being lumberjacks, saying eh, and living in cold weather?

Far as I can remember (and yes - *sigh* - I am old enough to remember) I don't recall the "eh" thing being much of an issue before that show. Of course, that could be part of my "not remembering much" during that whole decade. :roll:

They still air SCTV on the Comedy Network. Bob and Doug certainly revolutionized stereotyping the Canadian way.
