It depends on how you look at it, most of the British army was in Europe fighting Napoleon durning the war. It was mostly British settlers and Natives in upper Canada lower Canada ect... that invaded America and burt the white house. Canada didnt become a country till 1867, it was a British colony at the time of the war. So if you consider the British settlers and Natives Canadian then yes Canadians burt the white house.

No, cuz Canada was called British North America at the time. In fact, pretty much the only ones that considered themselves to be "Canadiennes" previous to the War of 1812 were the French.
However, you are confusing two different events. You are correct in that it was British, French AND American settlers, along with Natives and a few British regular units that fought back the US invasion. BUT...not a ONE of them was involved with DC. The troops that "sacked" DC came directly from England and were most definitely British.

ya they where called British north america which was a British colony and Robert Ross led more than just the British army into D.C when he first sailed over here he met up with the settlers that where already here on the east coast and led them to washington along with the British army
