My Sincearest appologies to all Airmen and Seamen of our Canadian Forces.

I was going to join the Army, but a couple of weeks (~2 months) before I was to go in for my interview and testing I had an accident that required surgical re-construction of my ankle and lower leg my doctors decided I'd never be physically able to serve and so me and the Sargeant that recruited me during career day in High School decided that there was no purpose in me going forward with the interview and testing. I'm assuming he had the authority and/or consent of the military in making that judgement.

Im not in the military (Im not old enough though I could join the reserves this summer) but I do plan on joining. My only problem is deciding what trade to get into. For army its amour, artillery(land), or infantry, and maby some more. For navy I would be a boatswain. For air force well Im not really interested in the air force (no offense to all you flyboys out there) I was in the cadets so I know basic drill and ranks and stuff but I quit just recently.

If you want to join and don't know what trade to pick, go down to the recruiting center and try to find out as much as you can. They, confessedly, don't know and/or have all the answers, so keep checking around. If you're interested in armoured, for example, there must be some serving/former serving members in here that can help you. The four trades that you mentioned are the four that are offered/available to everyone, there are MANY others out there. I can't talk about the army trades, but the Bosn (boatswain) trade is good. Bosns are open to ridicule (deck apes) but I think it's better than my own trade (NESOP - naval electronic sensor operator). Just take pride in what you do. It's mostly/often outside, some very good hands-on work, and it's what everyone thinks of when they think of a "sailor." Everyone's a bosn first, then their own trade second.
