$1:
Shakin' All Over

A joyful look at Canadian music from the 60s, that traces the evolution of a young industry with stories from such artists as Buffy Sainte-Marie, Lighthouse, Steppenwolf and The Guess Who, in harmony with a younger generation of stars (including Barenaked Ladies, Blue Rodeo and Sloan) who reveal the impact some of these earlier songs and songwriters had on their music.

Being a fan of old music from before I was born, this looks like it will be fun. Lookin' forward to all the cheesy old footage!

Gonna have to get a DVD recorder one of these days...

Those skanks, only "Canadian" music. How about American music [N+S America]. Hear some Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, that guy from Brazil who wrote "The Girl From Ipanema" song, bang, kaboom, bang, ding! You've got to have talent, that's a given, but what you truly need is, "it", the great intangable. In others Louis Prima, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Hendrix, and Patrick Hernandez only because he kicks ass, not because he's French.

Well, yeah, good music comes from all kinds of places, but that includes Canada, too.

The show might not have much to offer the lounge fan, however. Maybe some Paul Anka.
