I remember Techno Pop from 'way back when. Kraftwerk, Focus, all those little German boys that couldn't afford real instruments. Who was the guy that did the one one that they took for a cat food commercial, "I want chicken, I want liver, I want tuna. please deliver."? I haven't heard any of that stuff since about 1980. R.I.P. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane old timer.

If one wants techno, don't listen to the techno/trance stuff here in the US. Some is good here but rarely. One needs to go across seas...To Europe! Now that is techno music, the good stuff...

Wheats Wheats:
Good call, I'm gonna start a Blue Grass band. All the kids will think we rock. Know anyone that plays a banjo? I also need a guy that can play that upsidedown wash basin with a broomstick sticking out of it. I can play the old booze bottle with XXX written on it.

This will be huge.

When I was performing midway though our show we've swing into a poundin' bluegrass set taking us into our break - audiences loved it!!! I was really skeptical about it (it wasn't my "style, man") but it never failed. ROCKY TOP - FOX ON THE RUN. It was great!

Techno is the best for dancing 'til you drop.

I really loved Peter Schilling too. Would he be considred a precursor to techno?

I waS INTO Nina Hagen, Iggy Pop, Lene Lovich, Kate Bush, Bonnie tyler... Ah the music... the hash.... :) Good times

Techno has never been able to break into the North American market. Occasionally, groups like Basement Jaxx or the Crystal Method produce a one-hit wonder, but have no staying power.

Why, I have no idea.

Personally, I like it, but only for so long. Like someone here said, it makes for good driving music. I've got quite a few Tiesto and Oakenfold CD's along with the Crystal Method and a few Chemical Brothers.
