I like everything... okay except rap, and stuff like Britney blah blah.. I am fortunate enough to have been exposed to all kinds of music from the 60's ( both rock and country) all the way through the 70's 80' 90' and now...

The Hip ( fav) , classic rock ( obviously) , metallica, alice in chains, alicia keys ( some), allanis morrissette, Rush, styx, Garth Brooks, Shania Twain and omgosh so much more.. the monkees, harry chapin... basically anything within these guidelines is good with me

Okay I have been known to listen to marty robbins, hank snow, hank williams...

But its all good

I have have cds by Hank I, II, and III, Maya...nothing to be embarrassed about.

I listen to just about everything except classical and opera. I'm not a big fan of rap music, but a lot of it came out of and is returning to spoken word poetry, which I do like, and it has influenced pretty much all modern pop/rock to some extent, so the lines are becoming too blurred to say flat out that I don't like it.

I used to work with an Austrian guy who liked to play opera music. One day he was playing the "Kill the Wabbit" song from Bugs Bunny and I was singing along in my best Elmer Fudd voice. He finally asked the British guy what the hell was wrong with me. The British guy didn't know so they went to visit Buckaroo Bobzai in the back room, but he was listening to a Violent Femmes cd I'd just lent him and refused to tell them.

In the end the receptionist had to explain it to them. They didn't get it.

Heum...it's hard to pick just ONE kinda of music...in my early years, I've listened to mostly r&b becasue I'm African Canadian/American.. lol but once I got to about grade 5, I started listening to country too. (that's when I found Shania Twain...my absolute Hero!) and then I started listening to country radio (Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Today Keith, George Strait...all those great artists ) then when I got to about grade 6, I started liking rock too...(AC/DC was my favourite...Eric Clapton is great too) and when I was getting into the rock and stuff, my father reintroduced me to Stevie Wonder. And now, I'll listen to just about anything EXCEPT rap! some rap is good though, like The Black Eyed Peas...and Eminem is funny.. yet so serious and his stories, like Stan, are so...real! 8O but music has ALWAYS been a big part of my life. I can't even remember when I first started singing, but since I got into elementary school, I was in choir every year. and just tonight, I had a concert. It was great and afterwards, I went to dinner with all of my friends and we finally had time to chat and get closer to each other. It's so great how music can have such a great affect on people. ok I think I'm done now.. lol

Hmmmm...I like some rap, not a whole lot. Country, good country like Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson etc. I grew up listening to a lot of Eric Clapton, Garth Brooks and the Eagles, so I like them. I'll listen to almost anything. AT the moment, I have 25 hours of music on my computer.

l.../..._______________ that'd be me fainting Rev  Man I never thought I'd hear you say that. Let the Reggae cruise begin !!!!

About the only thng I don't listen to is opera. I tend to prefer music that is out of the main stream. Music that isn't played over & over & over & over & over & over & over...I think y'all get my point.

Hey Rev, thanks, btw - I am not embarrased

I just have to keep the Patsy Cline, Hank (s), and stuff for when I'm home alone... hehe... It's actually what I learned to play guitar and sing the best with when I was little... I don't play guitar anymore but I still love to sing... to anything...even eminem a little... basically any music that sounds good and has some kind of story...

and from the descriptions of everyones tastes... I am fitting right in..

Hey, this actually my first post on the site. But, I like all kinds of music, I'm a big fan of older rock like Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Meatloaf, but I listen to most anything. Every situation calls for different music, like drinking calls for some good rock and a lot of country, sports needs some loud metal and rap, everything is different. My favourite artists atm are probably Eminem, Big & Rich (their CD is really good), Zeppelin, Linkin Park, I don't even remember most of them...
