What did you go /are you going to school for Jade? I am currently finnishing my first year of mechanical engineering.
I think you have your tax supprot upside down. It is the people that make the most that fear high taxes the most, while those at the bottom of the pyramid want to have some sort of support when things go bad. It probably turns out that we are both right in that some support conservatives because of what you said, others because of what i said.
As far as there being "a lot of dumbasses in uni", speaking from my own experience that doesn't seem to hold true. University students appear to be more aware of what the issues are and are not locked into voting for one party because many have only voted in a couple elections at most.
I guess I'm speaking purely from my own experience. There are a lot of people I've met who support a party and are in the party 'campus club'. The majority of these people don't have the first clue about economics, politics, common sense etc. There are massive support rallies for causes people just see on the surface as a 'good thing' even tho they just end up screwing themselves.
The cons argument probably works both ways. The rich like their tax cuts, and the poor people who like blaming 'minority rights' or 'the damn liberals who take all their money' for their own problems, and vote accordingly. (not all the poor, just some)
It was wrong of me to unfairly put people into ideological demographics based on income/education. I apologize.
