I still don't see how someone interested in politics coming to political forums to comment on politics at politically important times is a bad thing. I joined the forums recently to try and do just that. People have a lot more objections to the concept than I expected.

Maybe stick around post election. Get to know us all and join in the lively debates before you call me and others out. Just a suggestion.

OnTheIce OnTheIce: I came onto this forum due to it's large political discussions. I'm sorry if I'm not interested in discussing everything with you guys all year, it's just not something I'm interested in. I check in and read the forum on a daily basis, even if I'm not commenting.
I've been on this forum for almost 6 years and have donated money to the forum as well.
This forum ALWAYS ramps up around election time and that's what the political sections, and those specifically named as, are used for. If you don't like what you're reading, move on.
I've never tried to hide the fact that I support the CPC nor am I posting in the hopes to earn respect from a bunch of strangers on the Internet. That's just it, you're not here to discuss. Harper = good Iggy = bad If Harper was caught with child porn on his computer, a grow-op in his house and 3 dead hookers in his basement, you'd say he was set up. So if it's not for a discussion, exactly why are you here?

EyeBrock EyeBrock: OTI, you have posted 14 pages of stuff (looking at your own history on your profile) since March. A single page of posts from August 2010 to January 2011.
Boots called it well. Rev Blair of the CPC. EyeBrock, people don't have to spend their days posting on this forum such as you do. Some of us read and post occasionally or more often when the topics are of interest (such as the election). Good for you for posting as much as you do, I don't care to spend the vast majority of my year on here as you do, but if that's what you like to do, all the power to ya.

EyeBrock EyeBrock: Bodah, I'll step in when people attack others for not being as rabid as them.
I've seen all this shite before and I can watch from the sidelines but when you partisans attack others for not being partisan, well I'll push back. Your not pushing back though, you're thread shitting. $1: EyeBrock wrote: We are all interested in politics on this forum.
I get dis-interested when partisans from both sides suddenly decide it's good form to ram their message down my throat like some never ending political attack advert.
We have had two weeks of it now. It’s boring.... <snip> Like I said if your bored turn the channel. Or, If you want to talk about Partisan hackery during elections on CKA and how it drives you bat shit loony why dont you start a thread about it. For some reason you don't like OTI, fine. I don't care what your beef is with him. Likely most other people on here don't care either.

I have said good things about Iggy, not many, but I have. I don't see a lot of good in the man nor will I pretend to for the sake of making people like you happy. I've made critical comments about all parties, even Harper. I've even thrown some praise around as well to all parties. (Even Liberals!)

I have no beef with either of you, I just don't agree with you. Is that so bad Bodah?

EyeBrock EyeBrock: Maybe stick around post election. Get to know us all and join in the lively debates before you call me and others out. Just a suggestion. I'd be happy to stick around, since this is the first Canadian-centric forum I've joined. Usually in other forums I'm in, Canadian topics are separate threads because the forum as a whole is just global. So this certainly has an appeal. But like I said, it's a political forum. What's the harm of someone who comes and talks about politics during politically important times in a forum about politics? I'm fairly certain I couldn't disagree more with OTI's politics, but it sucks to see how anyone posting here is immediately accused of being a shill for the conservatives or liberals or ndp. Which is exactly what happened to me on the first reply to my first post here. So I hope you can see how I can empathize with OTI and am put off by all the attempts to shut down discourse and engage in ad-hom instead of actually responding to the points at hand.

Which is it OTI? Does this make you happy, taking a post off topic for your own self-serving needs? Sorry, I'll be more specific for you. I don't spend a great amount of time posting on an Internet forum, like you do. I read on this forum all year round, but I don't make it a habit of posting unless it's something I'm interested in. As said above, you're thread shitting. Move on.

It isn't a purely political forum Erik. You should look around a bit more. With the election sme people have posted numerous threads on partisan topics. CKA is way more than that.
And I joined in when I saw ray getting a hard time for no good reason.
Not agreeing with partisan posters shouldn't make me a target. Shoot away but I will return fire.

This is the Canadian Politics forum. Or do you mean that the site isn't purely about politics? Because yes, I'm aware of that. But that's why I posted in the political forum.
Disagreeing with people is great. I mean, it really is, I wish more people in Canada would speak up about things they disagree with. But you didn't actually address anything he wrote, you just came in and told him he should shut up and vote. That's... well, that's sure not what I come to a politics forum for.
So really, if you don't like political discourse, why are you reading the political subforum? I don't feel any huge urge to go into the food and drink subforum and tell them to shut up about their food and drink already because I don't care about it.
edit: the guy who tells someone to shut up and vote is accusing someone of bullying? Geez.

And no, I don't remember you saying anything good about Iggy, or bad about Harper. But then, my memory isn't as good as it used to be.
