On today's Question Period, there was one segment where Jane Taber was interviewing three different Liberal MPs (including Scott Brison) over the recent poll numbers.

She made some interesting comments...

"If I was a Liberal, I'd be shaking in my boots right now!" (from this, I think that we can safely assume that Jane Taber is *not* a Liberal party supporter).

She asked one of the Liberal MPs who would be touring Alberta if he was planning on bringing security with him given comments he had recently made concerning the Alberta oilsands.

She really grilled the Liberals pretty hard.

CTV, as a whole, seems to be enjoying the recent Liberal plunge in the polls.

Makes me wonder what is motivating it... is CTV pro-Conservative? Pro-NDP? Simply fair and balanced, and getting tired of cliche damage control (i.e. Taber expressed frustration over the old line of "a poll is only a snapshot in time")? ...Could it be that some members of the media want Dion to fail, and be replaced with Ignatieff?

It was interesting to watch, that's for sure!

While I enjoyed reading your enthusiasm I don't quite get it. The media is in the business of razzle dazzle thus a dip in the polls turns into an event. The situation has tension though, as the race is close.

That's funny. Jane Taber, in my view, doesn't pull any punches against anyone. I've seen her take runs at Conservatives and Liberals in the same interview, then take a run at an New Democrat later in the same show.

Mike Duffy showed some emails on a recent edition of Mike Duffy Live, one of which criticized him for being pro-Conservative (viewer said he was "trying to get Harper a majority"), and another which criticized him for being pro-Liberal (viewer said they could "his red Liberal leadership card is showing").

The simple fact about media bias is this: everyone supports some form of media bias. They just expect it to be their bias.

Give a Liberal enough rope and he will eventually hang himself with it.

Kennedy has been trying to fend off accusations that he organized his support to shift to Dion before the final ballat even started. It was also someone in his camp that was handing out the racist literature against Bob Ray "Because his wife is Jewish"

On the eve of the last election I heard Mike Duffy interviewed live on CFRB talk radio and he all but begged listeners to vote Tory (bit of a waste really because 80% of CFRB's audience is Tory anyway). Without actually mentioning the party names he said something along the lines of "I hope voters in the GTA open their minds to different ideas and don't vote for the party's they've always voted for". Can't say I've seen him display any obvious bias to any party while reporting himself though.
