Some of the Questions I would ask would be
1) Who are you proposing to represent and which has priority when they conflict, Yourself, Your Riding, Your Party, Your Province, Your Country?
2) Will you vote on proposals based upon their merit or what your party leader dictates, will you support cooperation between party’s in the house.
3) Do you support the foreign control of our food, energy & natural resources, should large corporations receive government loans or subsidies.
4) What will you and your party do to support our farm & rural communities, how will you ensure that farmers receive a fair return for their labor.
5) Do you believe in more government control and support in our society or do you believe that people and businesses should not rely on governments as much.
6) What do you believe should be the main focus of the Federal government, should Provincial governments have more or less power and in what areas of interest.

On these and more specific issues the manner in which the questions are answered would be as important as the content. A candidate that regurgitates the party platform verbatim or typically does not answer the specific question but turns it into an opportunity to either praise their own party’s position or dump on another party’s platform would immediately go to the bottom of the heap. I suspect it will get rather crowded there!
In other words I favour an independent thinker who would hopefully coincide with a party I could "live with", hope we get a CAP candidate here!
