8 April 2014 is the last day that Microsoft will be providing patch support for the venerable 32-bit OS we all know and love:
Windows XPI'll miss this tidy little OS but will note that I'm quite fond of 64-bit Windows 7 these days.
FYI: If you're still running XP after today then my advice is to shut it down or physically disconnect it from the net by removing your network cable or, if applicable, by disabling your wireless features.
True, some folks are planning on doing open source support of XP but this will require daily checks for patches and then downloading and installing them...
daily.
Like I said, shut it off.
