The mag that was used would be illegal in Canada, however it's not a very good mag. In fact reports say that it jammed on him. A de-pinned 5 round mag would have been just as good, or better.

Agreed. Max magazine IMHO is 20 rounds per clip as after that it's just too easy for the fool things to jam.

Here's the shooter's profile from a dating site:

http://tmz.vo.llnwd.net/o28/newsdesk/tm ... im_tmz.pdf

He's an agnostic, a self-identified political moderate, and a fan of that subversive and notorious right-wing treatise: Where's Waldo?

Yet that didn't stop the majority of the media from calling this guy a racist, a Tea Partier, radical right-winger, and etc. on Friday.

Seems to be good chance that profile was created by 4chan to troll the world.

In other news seems like my pickup truck estimation was low,

http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/23/us/texas- ... index.html
14 die when packed pickup truck crashes in Texas.

*snide comment about the media here*

Illegal aliens being smuggled by a coyote. Sorry to say, but such crashes are not uncommon in border states.

TMZ

TMZ is the majority of the media? Stretching a bit in your attempts to feel put upon aren't you Bart?

I thought he was referring to the shooter's dating profile, that came from TMZ.

The commentaries I referred to were on Friday from ABC, primarily, and then CNN and Headline News Network.

I should have been a bit more clear, my bad. But, I watched a fair bit of CNN over the weekend (as much as it hurt to) and I didn't see any apportioning of motive to any group or ideology. Of course, I could have missed it, but that's just my experience.

And so far, the only "blaming" I heard came from a dumb-ass Congressman from Texas and the usual religious right suspects saying that it happened because there isn't enough Jesus in the US and because of evolution.

Friday I was home all day and spent too much time watching TV. ABC was the worst and then the talking heads panel on CNN came in behind. The HLN jerks played the game by 'reporting' what was said elsewhere instead of summoning the nerve to say it themselves.

Despite all of the cries about monopolies it seems that no one can ever quite corner the market on stupidity due to its bountiful abundance.

The National Review has a good article about the media response to the shootings:

School's out for summer....But yeah, Batman is too much for kids that age.

Dragging them to a movie is cheaper than paying for a babysitter, and it's easier than acting like a parent and deciding not to go to the show because you have a young child.

that's why drive ins were great. park the kids in the back seat and they went to sleep.....and usually I did too....especially if it was a double feature. :? It's not unusual to see lots of parents and their kids in the parks or out and about at this time here. At trhe Multplexes here the last showing for Batman is 2:40 AM
