Lemmy Lemmy:
Ahmadinejad isn't crazy. As I said on the thread about his recent interview with Amanpour, he's an outright liar. But he's perfectly lucid. He's playing playing the rattlesnake game. Rattlesnakes don't rattle when they're hunting. They don't rattle when they're attacking prey. They rattle when they want to keep larger predators away. It's carefully crafted politics for Iran to play the "loose cannon" and to "rattle" its tail at the USA.

I'm sure he is perfectly lucid, many psycopaths are.

Right. And Ahmadinejad would have to be crazy not to try to get the bomb with Bush declaring Iran part of the Axis of evil (look what happened to Iraq) and with Israel having them. Look how chickenshit the US is with Korea - any country that doesn't feel safe would be nuts not to go for the bomb. Probably the best thing is if they all have them, since it's impossible to prevent proliferation anyway.

The fact Pakistan has the bomb is what should really worry people, but then they're our allies.

UNfortunatly you seem to be right about North Korea. President Obama talk big, but in the end we don't don't want to get the Pygmy from Pymyang too upset.

I'm not aware of any evidence that would lead any reasonable person to cast a psychopathy diagnosis at Ahmadinejad. Not that I doubt your credentials, Dr. Spock, :P but on what evidence are you basing your claim that he's mentally ill? The only mental illness I observe here is paranoia, and it's not coming from Tehran.

Was capitalizing the "UN" part of "unfortunately" a Freudian slip? Kim Jong Il is another rattlesnake. They make a lot of noise and are a bit frightening, but generally pretty harmless.

Iran has a fairly good reason not to want nuclear weapons, they have been a victim of WMDs in the past. The funny part is that no matter what Iran starts producing the US will claim they are attempting to weaponize it.

Iran is a major playing in biological research, the US now states Iran is planning to build biological weapons. Iran has a large chemical industry (they have signed treaties against these weapons, been a victim of them in the past, and primarily research ways to negate chemical weapons) the US claims they are building chemical weapons and have a large stockpile. Iran is now chasing better nuclear energy, along comes the US again.

No matter what Iran chooses to do somebody will be accusing them of trying to build a weaponized version of it, nice way to piss off both major sects of Muslims, invade one half and accuse the other half of anything you can.

You don't think that it's nuclear weapons might have something to do with that?

I don't know how crazed he might be, but in his situation I would build or buy a nuke and test it at earliest opportunity.

The US is still a little girly about attacking nuclear capable nations and I'd want the breathing room.

With the current political situation in the US, Iran should worry more about Israel than the US. Israel would probably function as a proxy in normal times anyway.

All the good shows are already done for the afternoon/evening. You'll have to wait until tomorrow if you want some more Glenn Beck or Bret Baier.

The UN is a typo error, If one wants to think that Amadinajad is a kind, noble
well balance individual who is the best Iran can offer its up to you. I am fairly confident that Netanyahu will knock his dick in the dirt shortly, so it really doesn't matter.
