Yep. It may seem intolerant to do this to a race of people, but if the rates are so high - we need to protect the kids.

Alcohol and pornographic material are to be banned in some indigenous communities in the north of Australia after a report claimed "rivers of grog" were fuelling the sexual abuse of children.

Safety of the kiddies outweighs freedoms of the freaks.

Isnt only Aborigines that commit sexual abuse....if Australia wants to ban it for one ethnic group then all of Australia should have to abide by the same rules.

Well isn't the Australian government banning Alcohol and Porno from all Aborigines?

How is that not about race?

Some Aboriginal leaders attacked the plan as paternalistic and racist.

I hate to agree, but yes, it is.

The Aborigines have had a tough time, far worse than the natives in North America, and having the government force itself on them like this is a clear violation of their rights as Australians. This is just one more violation of their rights in a long string of violations not the least of which were the genocidal policies that didn't end until 1970.

It has nothing to do with their race.

You don't know much about Australia. I personally love the Aussies, but on the subject of the Aborigines they tend to be brutal and repugnant in their methods and policies.

I meant my opinion had nothing to do with race. I'm reasonably sure it's about race for the Aussies though.

For me, it's about the greater good. A little paternalistic racism might be a good thing if it protects the kids.

Racism is never good because one thing always leads to another. In the Aussies case this one thing will allow certain of them to try turn back the clock on Aboriginal rights.

The Aborigines have their own lands now, most of which are crap lands. But now the Aussies sometimes regret giving the Aborigines even that much because the Aborigines are finding uranium, opals, gold, molybdenum, and etc. and they're starting to make money of their own.

Were I a betting man I'd wager that the areas with the most problems according to this 'report' will also be the potentially richest areas, as well.

If the aborigines became Australians then maybe they would be treated the same? It is no different then all the special rights we give Indians here yet they expect to be treated as the same people when most do not even consider themselves such.

Also for Bart the aborigines even get their own seats specifically to them in parliament but I don’t see the English and Scottish Australians getting their own race seats.

Sounds like Socialist dogma to me, the Aussies treat the Muslims like the Chosen and yet treat their natives like second class citizens. Do a google search and you will see how much "Reasonable Accomadation" the current government is willing to apply to Muslims. Does the Burkini ring a bell to anyone. I'd say he's using the Natives as a political tool to get re-elected.

Regarding the Children, why all of sudden does he care? Selling children into marrage is okay but the Natives have issue. Okay. Sure.

“People fear Muslims because it is Muslims they see strapping bombs to themselves and killing innocent people all over the world this Includes Australia so they are not allowing the Muslims either.England is getting wiser to their movements as well ...now when will Canada look at this radical group?
